Daily Telegraph reports on Remediator!

Updated: Sep 12

Remediator was covered in today’s Daily Telegraph. The story about dodgy insurance and financial advice fees that are being uncovered and refunded in the wake of the Royal Commission into Banking is finally being told.

The article quoted our Remediator spokesman David Liston; “Commission exposed dirty tricks used to dupe consumers over many years,”

“Now, thanks to its findings, they can take some power and money back.”

Remediator helps consumers who have paid consumer credit insurance, lenders mortgage insurance, car add-on insurance (including, among others, GAP insurance, extended warranties, and purchase price protection cover) (so called “junk insurance). We also help consumers claim back fees for no service on financial advice that has been paid for where no financial advice has been given.

Remediator manages the claims process on behalf of consumers. Remediator is a no-win-no-fee service and charges 30% plus GST of the total refund amount where successful.

One of our successful claimants, Jess Ellerm was interviewed by the Daily Telegraph. Back in 2014 Jess was charged fees for financial advice that didn’t seem right. Remediator “went into bat for me,” Jess said. “They contacted the fund and did everything on my behalf, and kept me up to date on how my case was progressing.” Jess’ case was successful with a refund for the fees plus interest, totalling $1189 back in her pocket.
